Protect your Information

Everyone’s information becomes available in a public database called WHOIS that lists all information of the owner and registrar of the DOMAIN. The Internet has a governing body, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which requires that you provide this information and keep it current. That means anyone, including spammers and potential identity thieves, can access your personal information just by looking up your domain name.

The good news is that you protect your privacy without actually having to register your domain as a private one (which costs extra). For example you can use a P.O. Box for your address (I would never want my home address on the web. And, how many of us run our business out of a back bedroom?

Have you considered getting a business line? You can have a great phone by clicking here. It is very inexpensive, you pay less then $20 a month for unlimited calls to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada… and you can have the phone in your business name. You can use that for your domain registration. Oh, and you can keep any current phone number!!! A part of it is caller ID, so you can always have recourse when you receive unwanted calls, and/or you can have a notification go to your email as well as your cell phone!
